Yoga is a physical science of body, mind and spirit that is thousands of years old. The practice of yoga has many physical and mental benefits including decrease in blood pressure, improved posture, enhanced immunity and stress reduction.

Energetic styles of yoga asana (posture) have become very popular over the past decade. These forms of vital, strong yoga can build muscular strength, improve balance and increase flexibility.

Christy’s background includes both the Iyengar and Ashtanga style of yoga. Iyengar being a therapeutic approach with the use of props (blocks, straps, bolsters) to help the student gain strength and flexibility in the posture. Ashtanga Vinyasa is a more dynamic style of yoga, a system linking vinyasa (movement), pranayama (breath), bandhas (inner locks) and asana (posture). yoga classes on bainbridge at bainbridge pilates

Yoga Classes

Yoga & Core is Christy’s take on integrating ‘core-centric’ movement with a flowing yoga practice. Inspired by Ashtanga yoga with the addition of movements and exercises from Pilates and other body-mind practices.

Dynamic Flow Yoga is a classic yoga asana practice informed by Ashtanga vinyasa. Sun Salutations, standing postures, forward bends, twists, and backbends with moving sequences will challenge your physical and mental bodies. Class also may include pranayama, mantra and meditation.
